    v v1
= The Fonera with FreeWLAN Addons =

The Fonera having FreeWLAN Addons installed acts at first view in  the same way as before.
However there are now all private IP addresses ([http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1918.html RFC1918]) from the public signal cut off. You are given much more functionality with FreeWLAN Addons but we won't discuss all this time as they do not necessarily matter these network scenarios.

== APM / QRM ==
When the FreeWLAN Addons are installed and the configuration isn't touched, the Fonera is switched to Access Point Mode (APM). The Fonera operates except for some more new features like it does before Addons installation. Thus one has an encrypted private and a unencrypted public signal as well and the internet connection is still established over ethernet port.
with the Addons there are given two modes:
 * APM (Access Point Mode)
 * QRM (Quasi Repeater Mode)

The QRM is of low interess here. It will be contracted on another place.
[[br]]So if your Fonera is configured as far as possible, it should run APM after installation of the FreeWLAN Addons and run as usuall, it connects to internet via ethernet port as normal and clients may connect to the private signal. The FON Hotspot will do as well.
