Installation with Kolofonium hack
This method uses the Kolofonium hack by Stefan and only works if you don't have the FreeWlan Addons installed yet. Stefan has modified his hack to give you the easiest install ever. See below to read how it work's.
You don't need a separate SSH hack, because after this, SSH is accessible.
Reset
You can skip this point, if you don't have any Addons installed and you're using the default firmware lower or equal to 0.7.1r5.
To reset a Fonera to the fabric settings, follow these steps:
- Connect the Fonera to your network and power it on.
- Wait 2 to 3 minutes, until the Fonera finished booting
- Press the reset button on the bottom of the Fonera for 10 to 15 seconds
- (The WLAN LED turns off afterwards)
- Wait 2 to 3 minutes again, till the Fonera finished rebooting
- (You should see the MyPlace signal now)
- Connect to MyPlace (WPA Key = The serial number of your Fonera)
- Go to http://192.168.10.1
- Go to Advanced (The username is admin, the password is admin)
- Select Static IP and use a IP address from your local network
The Hack
- Go to Advanced (The username is admin, the password is admin)
- Insert the Kolofonium server 88.198.165.155 into the DNS field
- Set the Public SSID to ADDON (Appears as FON_ADDON in your WLAN manager)
- Reboot the Fonera (pull the plug)
Waiting
The Fonera boots now and starts the installation
- Wait 2 Minutes until the Fonera is finished booting
The middle LED will blink every 0.5 seconds during the installation
- Wait 3 to 5 minutes, till the middle LED stops blinking
Finished?
The FreeWlan Addons should be installed now. Because there is no restart after installing the addons, you can access the new web interface now and set the DNS Server to another address and change the Public SSID to fit your needs. You should restart the Fonera after this.
